For the powder fanatics that want to reach new heights, Winter nomads offers you a unique opportunity: heliboarding/heliski in the Andes. The program consist of a full day of heliboarding in the mountains with a total of 3500 meters vertical elevation per day and a week to freeride in the ski resort (Las Leñas). |

Necessary Level:
- (average- advanced) Heliboarding ´l’d never take you to extreme places, only places that you can do and enjoy your riding. Heliboarding: It’s not for extreme riding, but to enjoy the endless powder runs available in Las Lenas.
- No more than 4 people + a guide per helicopter.

Example of Day Program:
• 3500 meters of vertical elevation for ski/ride in Las Leñas
• Limited groups of 4 or 5 people max per group. With a maximum of 2 groups per helicopter.
• 1 guide for each group
• Lunch on the mountain
• Safety equipment: Transceiver, Shovel, etc
• All mountain Skies/Board
• Minimum of 4 skiers to carry on with the program.

The helicopter that we use in the program belongs to Burko Adventure, a Belgian real estate development company, leader in tourist projects in Patagonia for European investors. The helicopter is a V3, and it has 3 years working as a Heliski/Heliboarding ship in Argentina for tourist and Commercial Productions. The guides are specialized in all kind of mountains and they have a long history working in Las Leñas and Bariloche, so they know them very well! |

Las Leñas Mountain:
In Las Leñas we take you to VALLE HERMOSO (Beautiful Valley), where you can choose the face of the mountain or the off-piste you like the most. Valle Hermoso is in the mountain range in a totally unexplored zone, in fact, in a Heliski day with an expert group you can all be the firsts group to descend, it has nothing to do with Las Leñas, it’s like being in Alaska!
Facts about VALLE HERMOSO:
- Totally white, without rocks or vegetations of any kind.
- It’s 3000-3800 meters high. Nothing uncomfortable.
- 15 minutes from Las Leñas (by helicopter), it’s on the boarder with Chile
- 3 slopes per day (Morning or Afternoon)
Facts about Las Leñas:
- Las Leñas is the nearest resort from Buenos Aires (1000km), and it is situated at the highest level 3000m above sea level. It is also the most fashionable ski resort in Argentina. There is a limited night life in Las Lenas but the UFO and Urban night clubs are excellent for if you are looking for a great night out on the town.
- The hotels and apartments are situated right at the base of the mountain. The population consists mainly of skiers and snowboarders, as the nearest town is quite far away.
- La Leñas is the spot chosen by freeriders that come to South America. Everyone wants to conquer its terrain!!!
- Off-piste rescues are very expensive, so is very important to be precautious and insured.
- It is necessary to carry all safety gear when adventuring outside the resort. (transceivers, probes, shovel, are a necessity)
- Not far away we can find the Abandoned Thermal pools in Los Molles, ideal to spend a relaxing afternoon and why not drink a few bears!
- Eduardo, Sans Nom, C. Torrecillas, C. Entrerios, C. Martin, Bananas, Frankye, Las Vegas and Manhattan are some of the best trails.

- Consider good weather and great snow conditions! (If the snow is icy or if it is too windy, there is no freeride!)
- To get to the most spectacular freeriding experience, there is a 4 hour hike (at good pace) available for the more adventurous; if you are not up for the challenge you can book a Heli-ski program.
